How to do it
- 1Identify a sheltered, safe spot in the backyard for the 'hotel.'
- 2Secure the main structure (box or bottle). If using a bottle, cut off the top end.
- 3Gather various natural materials (twigs, leaves, pinecones) and discuss which insects might prefer each material.
- 4Layer the materials tightly inside the structure, creating small tunnels and chambers for different visitors.
- 5Place the finished hotel on its side and observe quietly over the next few weeks.
