How to do it
- 1Identify a safe, low surface to use as the beam.
- 2Explain the goal: try to walk from one end to the other without stepping off.
- 3Start by allowing the child to walk heel-to-toe, using their arms for balance.
- 4For added challenge, ask them to carry a lightweight object or walk backward.
- 5Offer physical support initially, holding their hand lightly, and gradually fade the support as their confidence grows.
