How to do it

  1. 1Identify a safe, low surface to use as the beam.
  2. 2Explain the goal: try to walk from one end to the other without stepping off.
  3. 3Start by allowing the child to walk heel-to-toe, using their arms for balance.
  4. 4For added challenge, ask them to carry a lightweight object or walk backward.
  5. 5Offer physical support initially, holding their hand lightly, and gradually fade the support as their confidence grows.
