How to do it
- 1Demonstrate basic pop-up techniques, starting with a simple parallel fold (V-fold).
- 2Participants sketch out the holiday image they want to pop up (e.g., a Christmas tree, a menorah, a spooky ghost).
- 3Cut the inner mechanism into the card base, ensuring cuts are precise.
- 4Fold the mechanism to make it pop out when the card is opened.
- 5Glue the image onto the pop-up tabs.
- 6Design and glue the outer decorative layer, ensuring the mechanism still functions smoothly.
What they're practising
