How to do it

  1. 1Before starting, review safe collecting rules (e.g., only pick items off the ground, no touching wildlife).
  2. 2Give the child a specific task, such as finding 'one smooth rock' or 'three red leaves'.
  3. 3Encourage them to carry their own collection bag and place items inside.
  4. 4Discuss the textures, colors, and sounds experienced along the path.
  5. 5Upon returning home, lay out the collected items and sort them by characteristic (size, color, weight).
