Seasonal Gratitude Tree

A creative, recurring activity focused on positive reframing. Family members write things they are grateful for onto paper leaves and attach them to a central 'tree' structure.

How to do it

  1. 1Set up the tree display in a common area.
  2. 2Daily or weekly, ask each member to reflect on one thing, big or small, they are genuinely grateful for. Write it on a leaf.
  3. 3Read the leaves aloud before attaching them to the tree.
  4. 4When a child is having a difficult moment (e.g., complaining about a chore or feeling sad), redirect them to the Gratitude Tree to read five existing leaves as a reminder of positive things in their life.
