How to do it

  1. 1Hang the sheet across a doorway or use the poster board framed in a chair to create the screen.
  2. 2Position the lamp/flashlight behind the child, pointing toward the screen.
  3. 3Help the child draw and cut out simple puppet shapes (animals, people) from cardstock.
  4. 4Tape the puppet shapes to the sticks.
  5. 5Turn off the room lights. Have the child stand between the light source and the screen, manipulating the puppets to tell a chosen story.
