Learn about grain sorghum and participate in a hands-on harvest and gleaning session at the college farm.
Join Blair and the Appalachian Foodways Club in the field to learn about milo, or grain sorghum, followed by a hands-on introduction to collecting grain from outside the designated harvest zone before the main harvest. With Blair’s guidance, we’ll gather grain to explore in the kitchen and use at ReHarvest. We’ll also have an opportunity to return for postharvest gleaning—collecting grain left behind after the crop has been harvested.
