Poultry-Focused Free Farm Tour with Farmer Billy
Join a guided tour of the farm's poultry operations to learn about sustainable farming and animal welfare practices.
Date: Saturday, June 6th Time: 10am – 11:30am Location: Hickory Nut Gap Farm Cost: FREE PLEASE RSVP ON FACEBOOK IF POSSIBLE- BUT ALL ARE WELCOME. Join us Saturday, September 5th, for a free Poultry Focused Farm Tour led by HNG Assistant Farm Manager Billy Callis. Billy will guide participants through the farm’s chicken and turkey operations, from brooder to pasture to sampling by the farm store butchery team, with the option (for those who wish to) to get a look at how our team works together to responsibly and respectfully process the birds that they raise. During the tour, guests will explore our feed and forage systems and learn about the health and welfare-forward practices that bring our pastured poultry to table. The tour will wrap up at the Farm Store & Butchery, where guests will various farm to fork proteins and learn more about how the eggs and meat they eat makes the journey from field to table. After the tour, guests are welcome to make a day of it—shop the store, explore the grounds, and enjoy the last days of summer. We look forward to having you out on the farm!
