Homeschool Day: How Our Land Protects Our Water
Hands-on outdoor program for homeschool families exploring riparian zones, water health, and restoration projects.
Learn and explore outdoors to discover how our land helps protect and keep our water healthy. The program takes place from 9:30 am-3:30 pm, with timed walks to the ponds at 9:30 am, 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. From The WaterShed, we’ll walk to ponds and explore the importance of the land right next to our water sources called riparian zones. We will learn how scientists study these zones and participate in an ongoing restoration project. Prepare to get your hands dirty! Free program for home school families open to all ages, with a focus on programming for 6-12 year olds. Dress for the weather; path is uneven dirt/gravel and trail is 1.5 mile roundtrip. Jogging strollers allowed. No dogs, except service animals allowed. Participants may also explore the exhibit hall and outdoor river campus between 9:30 am – 4:30 pm. Please reserve tickets for all adults and youth participating in this event. 9:30 am Program tickets: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/how-our-land-protects-our-water-tickets-1993715040355 11:30 am Program tickets: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/how-our-land-protects-our-water-1130am-130pm-tickets-1993715173754 1:30 pm Program tickets: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/how-our-land-protects-our-water-130-330pm-tickets-1993715293111
