Mass for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees
A religious service and reception celebrating the World Day of Migrants and Refugees.
The Diocese of Grand Rapids warmly invites you to join Bishop Walkowiak for the celebration of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees on Sunday, Sept. 20. The celebration will begin with Mass at 2:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, followed by a reception. This annual celebration reminds us that every migrant and refugee is our brother or sister in Christ. As we gather in prayer, we give thanks for the many gifts they bring to our communities and renew our commitment to welcome, accompany, protect and support those who seek safety, hope and a place to call home. Inspired by this year’s theme, “Even Just One of These Chidren” (Mt 18:5), let us come together as one family of faith to celebrate the rich diversity of our diocese and respond to Christ’s call to welcome the stranger with compassion, dignity and love. Everyone is welcome!
