Sensory-friendly Mass, Cedar Springs

A sensory-friendly Catholic Mass featuring lower lights, softer music, and a welcoming environment for individuals with disabilities.

Join us at St. John Paul II Church in Cedar Springs every first and third Sunday of the month for a sensory-friendly Mass. The diocese offers this sensory-friendly liturgy in an effort to embrace and welcome members of our Church with Autism, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Mass includes lower lights, softer music and no incense. Families and individuals are encouraged to get up and move if needed, to bring alternative seating, fidgets or noise cancelling headphones, and to participate in the liturgy just as they are.
