A community fishing event for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, featuring provided gear and lunch.

Spend the morning fishing with officers from the McFarland and Monona Police Departments on Monday, September 7, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Babcock County Park Shelter in McFarland. This free, family-friendly event is open to individuals of all ages with Down syndrome or related disabilities and their families, with fishing equipment and lunch provided; participants with disabilities will also receive a free T-shirt if registered by August 24. Parents/caregivers must stay with participants, and anyone age 16 or older who plans to fish must have a valid Wisconsin fishing license. Entrance is off of HWY 51 between the campground and boat launch. Please register by Monday, August 24th. Participants ages 16+ are required to have a state fishing license. Note: Parents and guardians who want to fish alongside their child must have a valid State of Wisconsin fishing license (required for ages 16+). https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/permits
