Create custom voting-themed buttons and postcards inspired by the Smithsonian's Voices & Votes exhibition.

America has a history of putting our ideas on buttons and badges – from campaign buttons to poster catchphrases, this tradition is over 250 years old! Get inspired by the Smithsonian exhibition "Voices & Votes" and join a long tradition of encouraging voters by making your own “Get Out and Vote” buttons and postcards. This event is in partnership with the Utah Museum of Fine Arts and accompanies "Voices & Votes: Democracy in America," a Smithsonian exhibition that explores the action, reaction, vision, and revision that democracy demands as Americans continue to question how to shape our country. "Voices & Votes: Democracy in America" is made possible in Utah by Utah Humanities and local venues around the state. Voices & Votes is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and State Humanities Councils nationwide. It is based on an exhibition by the National Museum of American History. Support for Museum on Main Street has been provided by the United States Congress. Visit the exhibition in Vernal from August 15 to October 17, 2026 to learn how Utah connects to this national story through local companion exhibits and public programming.
