Durham: the mecca of black capitalism and the center of North Carolina’s African American business community. Join a local historian on this guided walking tour of Durham’s Black Wall Street, hearing the stories of how a humble sharecropper became the owner of the largest black-owned company in American history and seeing some of the sites related to their stories. Learn how businessmen, labor organizers, educated academics and craftsmen each contributed to the unique history of Durham’s African American community.
