Hallowed Places Tour
A guided walking tour of NC State campus history, folklore, and significant landmarks.
NC State has recognized 10 irreplaceable buildings, landscapes and natural settings on its Raleigh campus that have accrued significant meaning over time to students, faculty, staff and alumni. We call them Hallowed Places. Take a tour of the seven sites within walking distance of the Memorial Tower and learn about all 10 spots on this tour led by University Communications and Marketing writer, editor and Hallowed Places expert, Tim Peeler (’87). Along the way, we’ll talk about university folklore, icons and legends, as well as the hallowed history of the ground that lies between the tunnels and under the bricks of North Carolina’s largest university. Note: This is a walking tour. It is not strenuous, but it will move quickly to stay within the allotted 90 minutes. It could be longer if the group is curious. Walking shoes are recommended. 20 Watauga Club Dr., Raleigh, NC, 27606
