Durham Square Dance
Community square dance featuring live music and a caller. Includes a family-friendly session and a faster-paced session for all.
The Durham Square Dance is a community-driven group that supports artistic expression via old time music and collective movement. New and experienced dancers are welcome. You don’t need to bring a partner. There’s a caller who teaches every move and guides you through the wild adventure. A live band plays rippin’ tunes to drive the energy. All in all, your face should hurt by the end from smiling. Family Square Dance, 5-6pm. Slower-paced, for kiddos and their adults. Big Square Dance, 7-9pm. Faster-paced, for anyone out for an adventure. Expect some easy moves, some silly moves, and a good time for anyone. Calling by Nancy Mamlin for both dances. You can choose to pay for a $10, $15, or $20 ticket based on your personal financial situation and ability to support the local arts scene. Kids under 12 are free! One ticket will get you into both dances.
