Join a guided bird-watching walk through the natural area to spot local avian species in their forest habitat.

North Carolina is home to many native ferns and Occoneechee Mountain is certainly no exception. Join a Ranger for a short hike to see how many we can find. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather, wear hiking shoes, wear bug spray, and bring water! Be prepared to hike off trail. We will also be using the seek app by iNaturalist to identify a lot of ferns; you may want to download the app if you don't already have it. Spaces are limited, and registration is required. To sign up, call (984) 250-1370 or email eno.river@ncparks.gov. Include the number of guests in your party and a phone number where you can be reached if the event is changed or canceled.
