Scenic Painting: Stone and Cement

Hands-on workshop teaching scenic painting techniques for stone and cement surfaces.

Learn stone texturing techniques in this hands-on scenic painting workshop! Beginner-friendly. This hands-on painting workshop will show you the basics of painting stone surfaces (as will be seen in UT's upcoming production of Metamorphoses!) as well as some cement and other stone varieties. Along the way you will learn some of the basic concepts about how scenic painters think and work, as well as how to breakdown and plan for your painting process. This is a hands on workshop so you will want to wear clothing you don't mind getting paint on, including shoes. Shoes must be close-toed (No sandles or crocs.) All needed materials will be provided and there's no experience necessary - Just bring your willingness to try new things and your enthusiasm!
