All Hallow's Smash
A pre-Halloween event featuring iron smashing, crafting stations, and bubble wrap stomping.
Spooky season is right around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than a dual Liberty Arts and Scrap Exchange pre-game party?! Before heading out for trick-or-treating, guests can hang out in the Scrap side yard for an afternoon of coke-sand smashing (wear something that can get dirty!), testing out smash contraptions ahead of the big day, bubble wrap stomping for the littles, a Make N’ Break crafting station and more from noon-3 p.m. on Halloween. Guests can join Liberty Arts’ Iron Breaking Captains to smash reclaimed scrap iron! Everything destroyed will become art during the Annual Iron Pour. Participants can use sledgehammers to break down bathtubs and more, get a great workout, release some rage and support reuse art making. Additional PPE will be provided, but iron breakers must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes to participate. Volunteers ages 15 and up are welcome. Those who would like to sign the participation waiver ahead of time can visit the sign-up link. The Glass Jug will be on-site selling beer, and Durham Congee Corner will be serving snacks. See you there!
