An annual cultural festival celebrating Black history and community through art, music, food, and storytelling.

Black August in the Park (BAP) is an annual cultural gathering rooted in the legacy of Black August and the ongoing pursuit of Black liberation, healing, and self-determination. BAP has created space for Black people to gather, celebrate, reflect, and imagine together. We believe culture is more than expression. Culture is memory. Culture is identity. Culture is infrastructure. Through art, music, storytelling, food, and shared experience, BAP preserves the stories that shape us and creates new ones that carry us forward.
