Make Your Own Willow Lantern w/ Street Creature Puppet Collective

Craft a glowing lantern from willow and paper in this hands-on workshop, with an option to join a local parade later.

Join Jennifer Murphy of Street Creature Puppet Collective to brighten the dark of winter with your own hand-crafted lantern made from paper and willow branches. In this cozy, creative workshop, you’ll build and decorate a glowing lantern using paper cutouts and colorful tissue designs while learning about lantern-making traditions and festivals from around the world. All materials are provided — just bring your imagination! Participants are also invited to carry their finished lanterns in the Light the Night Parade in the River Arts District on December 19th.
