Global Film Series: Robot Dreams
Screening of the animated film Robot Dreams, followed by an introduction by a university counselor.
In the film Robot Dreams, Dog lives in Manhattan, and he’s tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot companion. Their friendship blossoms until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of 80’s NYC. One summer night, Dog, with great sadness, is forced to abandon Robot at the beach. Will they ever meet again? Based on the popular graphic novel by Sara Varon and directed by Pablo Berger, Robot Dreams was nominated in 2024 in the best animated feature film category. The movie's runtime is 1 hour, 43 minutes. It's rated PG-13 and has no dialogue. Kayla Jordan Haywood, a triage counselor/intake specialist for NC State’s Counseling Center, will introduce the film. The film screening is part of the Global Film Series, a partnership between the NC State University Libraries and the NC State Office of Global Engagement.
